I was "Tagged" by my friend Erin Reed of Lacour to reveal 8 things you might not know about me. Photographers who are tagged, reveal 8 things and then tag other photographers to reveal 8 somethings about themselves.

Here are mine!

8 things you might not know about me...

1. When I was 13 years old I qualified for "Expert Marksman", the top medal awarded in the Army for marksmanship in small bore rifle. I competed with over 200 other competitors (ages 13-18) and came in 10th.
The next weekend my Mom soundly beat me in our family shoot-off rifle contest proving once again that nobody can keep you grounded like your mom can. :)

2. I am somewhat of an amature silversmith and jeweler. I have the touches, acid, silver, mandrels, solder, everything. I have created necklaces, bracelets, and rings. My wife's favorite ring is a "Russian Wedding Ring" that I made for her.

3. I love theatre and concert production. I had the lead role in a Christmas Carol in high school, and was a Technical Director for several large concerts and performances including Michael W Smith (he was a pretty cool guy) and Ballet Magnificat. I have been on stage with Larnelle Harris and New Song manning the "floor cam".

4. I delivered both of my children. A physician friend of ours was there just in case, but I gowned up and caught both of our children. It was one of the most amazing and exhilarating experiences of my life.

5. I play acoustic guitar and sing. Unfortunately, my voice seems to sound best with country music. ;-)

6. I paint with oil paints and enjoy drawing with charcoal. I have since I was 11 when I took lessons with a local artist in my home town of Grand bay, Alabama.

7. I began my career as a software engineer. I worked in New York City for a while for one of my idols in advertising - Ogilvy and Mather. It was so fascinating to see all the creative people working together to come up with multimillion dollar ad campaigns.

8. I love fashion design! I have taken some of my female friends shopping and loved being the stylist! “Oh girl you have GOT to have that!”
I have always secretly wanted to open my own fashion boutique and fill it with Diesel, Lucky Jeans, Juicy Couture and Armani Express as well as some unknown designers that I love (and maybe one day some of my own designs!) Think Anthropologie with an ultra-hip, urban feel that you could wear to the opera.
