London, England

We're back from our vacation and it was an absolute wonder. It was so interesting to see how other people work and live and enjoy other cultures that in some ways are very much like our own and in others completely different (what's up with everyone drinking hot Coke!?)

We started our trip in England and I wanted to share a few images with you. London was a melting pot of all kinds of people. It was very, well, British, for lack of a better word. The British people we met were very polite and kind. We struck up a conversation one might with a couple who were waiting on a train and had fun chatting with them.

We had high tea at Harrods and toured all the London museums and attractions. I especially enjoyed the tower of London with it's dark history. The Tate Modern (London's modern art museum) was showing Dali's works. Along with his paintings, they had something unexpected. It turns out that Dali and Walt Disney made an animated film together. Melting clocks, weird forms that flowed from one thing into another - it was like Mickey Mouse on acid.

But in a good way. ;)
