Holy Holga!

Sometimes I like to go out and shoot just for myself and explore different kinds of photography. Today at lunch, I went out and shot for a little while with my new Holga lens.

We use the most advanced equipment we can find to make the images we do. We are always investing in gear that extends our capabilities. We are blessed to shoot with some of the best lenses and camera bodies in the industry.

But, yesterday I got in a brand new lens. But it's not any ordinary lens, it's a lens from a Holga camera body that's been converted to fit the Cannon 5D. The Holga is a $15 dollar toy camera that was made in china that shoots "old style" 120 film.

I saw some images from the Holga on the Internet and I was impressed. The lens isn't even made out of glass, it's plastic, but the images that come out of it are dreamy and almost surreal.

I took some photos of some flowers around the studio at lunch. I wanted to share them with you.

It all reminds me that it's never about the equipment, it's about the people, the moments and the beauty that's right there in front of whatever lens you're using.

I hope you enjoy these!
